AA Bio Consulting
Making complicated information usable is an engineering problem as much as a scientific one.
AA Bio Consulting builds software for genomics pipelines and the regulatory and reimbursement work that surrounds them.
What I Do
I build software for biological data and for the regulatory and reimbursement systems that depend on it.
Work includes rescuing fragmented research datasets, building bioinformatics infrastructure, evaluating biological AI outputs, and reconstructing what regulators and payers have actually published.
The objective is the same in each case. Reduce ambiguity, and make sure the decisions that follow rest on something that can be checked.
Consulting Services
Bioinformatics Data Systems
I design and manage data systems that bring complex research and operational information together.
The goal is not simply to store data, but to create an organized and documented foundation that researchers can use to answer questions, track outcomes, and support future analysis.
Current work includes bioinformatics infrastructure supporting tree disease research, genetic diversity analysis, and forest restoration programs.
Biological AI Evaluation
I provide biological and bioinformatics judgment for the development and evaluation of artificial intelligence systems.
This work may include assessing model responses, identifying scientific errors, developing evaluation criteria, reviewing complex biological reasoning, and helping improve the quality of domain-specific training and evaluation data.
Regulatory and Reimbursement Data
I build systems that turn dense public policy documents into structured, dated, verifiable data.
The goal is to let a team establish what a rule actually said, when it changed, and what it requires now, instead of reconstructing that by hand every time the question comes up.
Who I Work With
I work with organizations operating where biological complexity creates technical, commercial, or reputational risk, including:
Biotechnology and genomics companies
Diagnostics and laboratory companies
Scientific AI developers
Life science software companies
Background
Andrew Albert, Founder & Principal Consultant, AA Bio Consulting
My background combines molecular biology, bioinformatics, software engineering, biotechnology commercialization, laboratory operations, and scientific AI evaluation.
I hold master’s degrees in Bioinformatics and Biotechnology Enterprise and Entrepreneurship from Johns Hopkins University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from Binghamton University.
That combination lets me work on both sides of a problem at once: the biology, the system that holds it, and whether the resulting claim survives someone checking it.

Engagements
Engagements are structured around a defined problem and a deliverable that solves it. I work alongside scientific, technical, and commercial teams rather than around them.
